Since opening Japan’s first simultaneous interpreter training program in 1966, ISS has continually expanded its pool of professional interpreters and delivered high-quality interpreting services.

Robust interpreter network

Our dedicated recruiters interview interpreters and comprehensively assess their abilities based on interpreting experience and ISS’s proprietary evaluation system. We continuously monitor interpreters’ performance and client feedback to maintain up-to-date insight into their interpreting skills and responsiveness, ensuring we can always meet client expectations.

Fields and languages

Types of interpretation

Simultaneous interpretation: The interpreter translates almost simultaneously while listening to the speaker.
Consecutive interpretation: The interpreter renders the translation after the speaker pauses.
Whispered interpretation: The interpreter translates simultaneously in a low voice beside the listener.
